County Council to hear details on Ameritrust Complex sale and Consolidated County Headquarters

CLEVELAND – Cuyahoga County Council will hold its final meeting of 2012 at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 11th. The meeting will take place in Council Chambers on the first floor of the Justice Center (1200 Ontario St., Cleveland, Ohio 44113)
The agenda includes:
- The formal acceptance and approval of the County Charter, amended by the voters in November;
- The establishment of a County Department of Consumer Affairs; and
- An update of the 2012/2013 Biennial Budget;
The Council will also receive the County Executive’s formal recommendation on the redevelopment and consolidation plan for County-owned buildings, including the Ameritrust complex and a consolidated County Headquarters. Council will hold the first public hearing on the Executive’s recommendations on January 2, 2013 at 5:30 p.m.
This meeting will be the final one of 2012 in which the County Council had some notable accomplishments. Holding almost 30 Council meetings and over 180 Committee meetings, Council has established an historic Economic Development Fund, a Veterans Services Fund to recapture funds earmarked for veterans and ensure they are used for their intended purpose, a Post-secondary Educational Assistance Program to enhance the workforce development efforts of the County, and a Fund Balance Reserve Policy to strengthen the County’s dedication to fiscal responsibility.
