Cuyahoga County Council to swear in newly elected members, elect Council leadership, and consider Ameritrust complex sale/consolidated headquarters proposal

Cleveland, OH – Wednesday, January 2, 2013 marks the beginning of the Second Cuyahoga County Council under the Charter.
At 4:30 p.m., Cuyahoga County Council members, elected in November 2012, will be sworn in to their offices by the Honorable Robert C. McClelland of the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court. After the swearing-in ceremony, Council will hold an Organizational meeting to establish Council leadership and a schedule of meetings for 2013 and 2014.
At 5:30 p.m., the Committee of the Whole will consider the Executive’s recommendation for the sale of the Ameritrust Complex and the leasing of a consolidated county headquarters. Included in the agenda is a presentation on the proposal and the process leading to the final recommendation.
Members of the public are encouraged to attend the meeting, located in the Council Chambers on the 1st floor of the Justice Center, or to watch via Council’s live stream at http://council.cuyahogacounty.us/.
