FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Jeanne Schmotzer, Clerk of Council: (216) 698-2020; firstname.lastname@example.org
Cleveland, OH – Cuyahoga County Council, in its continuing effort toward more open, accessible and transparent government, has officially unveiled the Codified Ordinances of Cuyahoga County (Cuyahoga County Code). The Code provides a more easily understood format for the Ordinances enacted by Cuyahoga County. Located on the County’s website at http://code.cuyahogacounty.us/, the Code is divided into distinct subjects delineated by Title and Chapter.
The Code is a dynamic document, updated by the Clerk of Council on an ongoing basis as Ordinances are enacted by Council and signed into law by the County Executive. Functionally, it is comparable to the operation of the Ohio Revised Code at the state level. The official version of the Code includes a certification by the Clerk of Council. The County’s permanent and general laws as enacted by Ordinance before the date of the Clerk’s certification are contained in the Code.
Meetings of the Cuyahoga County Council are free and open to the public. Members of the public are encouraged to attend in person in the Council Chambers on the 1st floor of the Justice Center, or to watch via Council’s live stream at http://council.cuyahogacounty.us/. Complimentary parking for the public is available in the Huntington Garage at Lakeside and W.3rd St. Archived video is also available at http://www.youtube.com/CuyahogaCounty.
